Strawberry Cashew Spread (2 Ingredients, No Added Sugar)

Why has no one ever told us you can make the most incredible strawberry spread with just two ingredients and zero added sugar?

This strawberry cashew butter is creamy, naturally sweet, slightly tangy, and honestly tastes like strawberry dessert spread in a jar. It’s one of those recipes that feels almost too simple to work… until you try it.

All you need is cashews, freeze-dried strawberries, a food processor, and patience. That’s it.

It takes time—yes, around 20–25 minutes—but watching it transform from powdery crumbs into a silky, pink, fruity butter is part of the magic.

And the result? Completely worth it. I bet you’ve never tasted anything quite like this before.

Why This Works So Well

Cashews naturally blend into a creamy butter because of their high healthy fat content. When combined with freeze-dried strawberries, they instantly absorb the fruit’s intense flavour and natural sweetness.
No sugar. No oils. No additives. Just real food doing its thing.

IMPORTANT NOTE (PLEASE READ BEFORE MAKING THIS)

I use a very powerful, high-quality food processor for this recipe, which is what allows the cashews to break down into a smooth, creamy butter over time. If your machine is older or not very strong, I would not recommend attempting the full blending process, as it can overheat or potentially damage the motor.

Instead, there’s a much easier (and safer) alternative that still gives you amazing results. You can blend the freeze-dried strawberries separately into a fine powder using a blender (not a food processor, as it works better for dry ingredients). Then simply mix this strawberry powder into ready-made cashew butter until fully combined and smooth.

You’ll still get that beautiful naturally sweet strawberry flavour and creamy texture—just with zero stress on your machine.

How To Use It

Spread it on toast, swirl it into yoghurt, drizzle over oats, or eat it straight off the spoon (no judgement).

It also works beautifully as a fruit dip or as a topping for pancakes and porridge.

Storage

Fridge:
Store in an airtight jar for up to 2 weeks.

Strawberry Cashew Butter (2 Ingredients, No Added Sugar)

Servings 12
Prep Time 25 minutes
Total Time 25 minutes

Ingredients

  • 50 g freeze-dried strawberries
  • 200 g raw cashews

Optional

  • 1 tsp coconut oil

Instructions

  • Add the cashews and freeze-dried strawberries into a high-powered food processor.
  • Start blending and be patient—this is not an instant recipe.
  • At first, it will look like a dry, crumbly powder. Then it will start clumping. Then it will turn into a thick paste. And finally… it becomes smooth, glossy, and spoonable.
  • This process usually takes 20–25 minutes, depending on your machine.
  • Make sure to stop every few minutes to scrape down the sides. This helps everything blend evenly and prevents overheating.
  • Once it turns creamy and spreadable, it’s ready.

Notes

Important note: I use a very powerful food processor for this recipe. If yours is older or not very strong, I don’t recommend trying it as it may overheat or get damaged. Instead, blend the freeze-dried strawberries into a powder using a blender, then mix into cashew butter until smooth and well combined.
