Salmon is one of the best sources of omega-3 fatty acids, which are essential for brain, heart and joint health. This recipe is also high in protein, naturally gluten-free (if using GF breadcrumbs), and made with simple ingredients you likely already have at home. Plus, cooking it in the air fryer means no mess, no deep frying, and minimal oil.
These salmon bites with hot honey glaze pair perfectly with a cooling yoghurt sauce and make healthy eating feel indulgent. Whether you’re meal prepping or looking for a last-minute meal idea, this recipe is fuss-free, delicious and nutritious.

Omega-3
Salmon is one of the richest natural sources of omega-3 fatty acids, particularly EPA and DHA, which are essential for optimal brain function, heart health, and reducing inflammation in the body. Unlike some nutrients, omega-3s cannot be produced by the body, so they must come from food. Eating oily fish like salmon just once or twice a week can help maintain healthy cholesterol levels, support cognitive function, and even improve skin health. According to the NHS, adults should aim to eat at least one portion of oily fish a week to meet their omega-3 needs. Recipes like these crispy salmon bites are a delicious and easy way to get more of this vital nutrient into your diet without any fuss.

Tips
- Use skinless salmon: It helps the coating stick better and makes the bites more tender.
- Preheat your air fryer: A hot air fryer helps get that golden crispy finish without drying out the salmon.
- Shake well before cooking: Mixing all the salmon ingredients in a container distributes the flavours evenly and keeps things fuss-free.
- Make extra sauce: It’s so good, you’ll want more. Store any leftovers in the fridge for 2–3 days.
Swaps
Salmon: You could try cod or trout fillet for a similar flaky texture and mild flavour.
Panko breadcrumbs: Regular breadcrumbs will work, but they won’t be quite as crispy.
Sriracha: Any hot sauce you love will work here—just adjust the amount to your spice tolerance.
Honey: Maple syrup adds a slightly different sweetness and works as a vegan alternative.
Yoghurt: I used plain yoghurt, but Greek or coconut yoghurt will work too depending on your preferences.
Mayo: Swap for extra yoghurt if you want a lighter sauce.
Storage
Fridge: Store any leftover salmon bites in an airtight container for up to 2 days.
Freezer: Not recommended, as the breadcrumb coating may lose its crispiness.
