When you’re looking for a simple, healthy snack that’s full of Autumn flavours, these apple crisps are a must-try. Made with just 3 ingredients, they’re the perfect combination of sweet, spiced, and crispy.
The best part? You only need apples, coconut oil, and cinnamon to make these. That’s it. There’s no added sugar, and the crispness comes from simply baking or air frying the apple slices until golden.
These apple crisps are so easy to make, and the result is a wholesome snack that’s not only good for you but also delicious. Whether you enjoy them straight out of the oven or air fryer, or store them for later (though they’re crunchiest right away!), they’re the perfect seasonal snack for this time of year.
Give this recipe a try—wholesome, simple, and oh-so-good.
Tips
- It’s really important to slice the apple to an even thickness – about 3–5mm. This helps them bake evenly in the oven for the best texture.
- When you place the slices in the oven, make sure they are well spread out with no overlapping. This will help the apple crisps cook evenly and turn out nice and crispy.
- Keep an eye on the apple slices while baking. Because of the natural shape of an apple, the slices will all be slightly different in size, so some might cook quicker than others. The smaller pieces tend to bake faster, so you can remove them earlier if needed.
- Let the apple crisps cool down completely – they will dry out a little more as they cool. For the crispiest result, enjoy them straight away. They’ll still be delicious the next day, but they do tend to soften if not eaten immediately.
Storage
Once the apple crisps have completely cooled down, store them in an airtight container at room temperature. If they soften a little over time, you can pop them back in the oven or air fryer for a few minutes to crisp them up again. I would recommend you eat them straight away though, I think they are at their best straight out of the oven.
