If you’re looking for a wholesome snack that’s delicious, easy to make, and perfect for any season, these frozen banana and peanut butter clusters are the answer.
With just three simple ingredients—bananas, peanut butter, and dark chocolate—you can create a naturally sweet treat that’s perfect for satisfying cravings without any guilt. Customise with your favourite nut butter, and don’t skip the optional pinch of salt for that extra burst of flavour!
These clusters freeze to the perfect consistency: firm enough to hold but never rock-solid, making them ready to enjoy straight from the freezer. Whether it’s a warm summer day or just an afternoon pick-me-up, they’re always a hit.

Tips
- Banana needs to be very ripe as we are not adding any extra sugar, it is important that the bananas are at the pick of their natural sweetness. You’ll see black spots on the peel that will tell you they are at the perfect stage of ripeness for this recipe.
- Shape the clusters as you pleased. I composed a flower shape to make them more appetiser but in everyday life, to make the process much quicker I simply slice the banana and roughly lay them on a tray with baking paper and then follow the next steps.
- If you want to have larger clusters make sure the banana slices are touching each other so they will stick together in the freeze. I sometimes make individual ones to, it’s really up to your preference.
- The hardest part is always the waiting time for them to freeze and enjoy, wait at least 3 hours before eating them.
Swaps
Nut butter : you can use any nut butter of choice, almond, cashews, pistachio or peanut butter!
Dark chocolate: I always use 70% dark chocolate, I think it is the perfect combination of healthy and not too sweet that perfectly balance the sweetness of the bananas. If you are not used to dark chocolate try with a lower cacao percentage, 55-60%.
Storage
Store them in an airtight container, such as a glass jar or resealable bag at room temperature or fridge. This helps retain their crunch and prevents moisture from getting in. If you keep at room temperature the maple syrup will melt slightly and become sticky but still totally delicious.
