Tips
- Use a mix of oat flour and rolled oats for the best texture.
- Don’t overmix to keep the bake tender. Mix just enough to combine all the ingredients together.
- Don’t let the batter stand too long before baking or it can become dense and heavy. Once you have mix the ingredients transfer immediately to the baking tray and bake.
- Let cool before slicing to help it firm up. I find this bake is even tastier the day after, so it’s perfect for meal prep!
- Serve with a dollop of natural yoghurt for a boost of protein and a creamy contrast to the rich brownie oats.
Pair With
Serve warm with a dollop of natural yoghurt for extra protein and creaminess.
Add fresh berries or sliced banana on the side for natural sweetness and added nutrients.
A drizzle of nut butter or a spoonful of your favourite fruit compote also works beautifully.
Swaps
Almond butter: Swap with peanut butter or sunflower seed butter for a nut-free option.
Milk: Use any plant-based or dairy milk you like – oat, almond, or cow’s milk all work well.
Honey: Replace with maple syrup or agave for a vegan version.
Oats: Use all oat flour or all rolled oats depending on texture preference.
Optional add-ins: Try adding chopped nuts, dried fruit, or chocolate chips for extra texture and taste.
Storage
Fridge: Store the brownie baked oats in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days.
Freezer: For longer storage, you can freeze individual portions for up to 1 month. Thaw overnight in the fridge before reheating.
