This healthier version swaps out the marshmallows for natural peanut butter and maple syrup, making it a more wholesome and naturally sweetened treat. With just three simple ingredients, these peanut butter rice krispy treats come together in minutes and deliver that perfect satisfying crunch.

Whether you need a last-minute dessert or a handy snack to keep you energised, these gluten-free, no-bake squares won’t disappoint. They also don’t require any special equipment or baking skills, so it is an easy and accessible treat for everyone.

Tips

  • Microwave the peanut butter and maple syrup just enough to soften, don’t overheat or it can get too runny.
  • Mix the rice crisps gently to avoid crushing them and keep the crunch intact.
  • Press the mixture firmly into the tin to ensure the squares hold together well after freezing.
  • Freeze instead of refrigerate to get the best crunch and easier cutting.
