This is one of my all-time favourite sweet treats to enjoy after dinner. It’s super easy to make and uses wholesome ingredients. Plus, it combines two of my favourite flavours: dark chocolate and dates. This treat is packed with fibre and naturally delicious. It’s one of the best healthy snacks you can make at home.

Tips
- Overlap Rows for Better Binding: When lining up the dates, make sure each row overlaps slightly so they merge perfectly when pressed down.
- Use a Small Tray: A smaller tray helps create a neat shape and makes spreading the peanut butter easier and tidier.
- Press Firmly with a Glass: Use the bottom of a glass to press the dates down firmly, packing them tightly into the tray.
- Salt Boosts Flavour: Adding a pinch of salt or some chopped salted peanuts enhances the sweet and salty contrast — don’t skip this step!
Swaps
Dates: Use medjool or any soft, naturally sweet dried dates. If your dates are dry, soak them in warm water for 10 minutes to soften.
Peanut butter: Swap with almond butter, cashew butter, or sunflower seed butter for a nut-free alternative.
Dark chocolate: Use milk or white chocolate if you prefer a sweeter option, or cacao nibs for a crunchy, less sweet topping.
Salted peanuts: Use roasted salted almonds, cashews, or pumpkin seeds as a crunchy topping instead.
Storage
Fridge: Store the date bark in an airtight container for up to 5 days — keep it cool to maintain the chocolate’s texture.
Freezer: Freeze for up to 1 month. Thaw in the fridge before serving for the best texture and flavour.
