Mix the cream cheese, garlic powder and grated cheddar in a bowl until smooth. Fold in half of the cranberries, pecans and chives.
Line a small bowl with cling film, leaving plenty hanging over the sides. Scatter the remaining cranberries, pecans and chives evenly into the bowl, then spoon the cream cheese mixture on top. Press gently and smooth the surface.
Fold the cling film over the top and refrigerate until firm, or place in the freezer for about 10 minutes if you’re short on time.
When ready to serve, unwrap and turn the cheese ball upside down onto a board so the topping is on display.
