Instructions
Add all the ingredients in a saucepan: the cranberries, orange juice, maple syrup, water, ginger, cinnamon stick, and cloves.
Bring everything to a boil, then reduce the heat and let it simmer until the cranberries soften and begin to pop, around 15–20 minutes.
Remove the ginger, cinnamon, and cloves.
Let the sauce cool completely.
Transfer into sterilised jars and seal tightly.
Notes
This recipe makes 1 medium jar (about 350–400g) and serves 8–10 as a condiment.
Suitable for both Christmas and Thanksgiving, with a bright, naturally sweetened flavour.
You can use frozen or fresh cranberries — both work the same.
The sauce thickens as it cools; simmer a little longer if you prefer it thicker.
Delicious with Christmas dinner, turkey sandwiches, cheese boards, or spooned over yoghurt.
